Rochelle
Why this track ?
Sources:
"Descendants of Francis LeBaron of Plymouth Massachusetts"

Page 444, appendix A:
Dr. Alexander LeBaron Monroe, who was a grandson of Lazarus LeBaron, and
Susannah Johonnot, of Boston, daughter of Andrew and Susannah (Olivier)
Johonnot, both of Huguenot descent, in a letter written in 1870, said:
"It is interesting to know that the blood of the Catholic LeBaron, the
Huguenot Johonnot, both from Rochelle, France, and of Warren, the Pilgrim,
from England, should so early be mixed on the shores of New England."
Current situation of my research
I
am looking for information
on the following subjects:
-
About
1567, one Lebaron would have taken part in repression against the
Protestants with the service of his uncle,
Blaise de Montluc governor of Guyenne, he would have embarked in the
port of Brouage to the head of 500 arquebusiers of elite to attack the "Ile
de Ré".
-
It seems that "Picton" is used
in the area of the La Rochelle and that it would mean "Fisherman".
Would Louis Pecton (1600-1700)
be originating of La Rochelle?
